The Journey of Marc Fettarappa Marc is a Geneva born guitarist currently part of Terminus 7 and Gate 21 . He started his musical journey as a kid following his parent's concerts with the Alexis Botkine Orchestra as well as listening to classical and his father's jazz gospel music. He started playing some piano and trombone up to the day he got the electric guitar calling having discovered the band UFO in the early 80's. Trained as an engineer, he naturally started an amateur sound engineer career recording demo track and notably a collection of songs for Raymond Thevenot and his friends, playing his famous queen flute. Marc played with numerous bands like Bex Marshall, RockAddiXion, The Darts, The Quest, etc. His style evolved towards a more prog-rock inclination that can be heard in Terminus 7 songs as well as his own. Marc hosted "The Flying V Website" for over 20 years, through which, he linked with a number of forefront artists using or having used Gibson Flying V guitars. “Music isn't just what we hear; it's the space between the notes where the heart resides.” His musical path has seen him collaborate with seasoned musicians and create independent projects that define his style. Whether composing or performing live, Marc brings a sophisticated, edgy energy to every stage. This biography serves as a testament to a life lived in rhythm, documenting the milestones of a musician who continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the modern digital age. The Foundation of a Global Sound Marc Fettarappa’s journey didn’t start under the glare of arena lights, but in the focused silence of early practice rooms and the intimate, smoke-filled air of local rock clubs. Every chord struck in those foundational years was a deliberate step toward the more prog-inspired sound he is known for today. This period was a meticulous exploration of musical boundaries, where classical training met raw, edgy experimentation. Influenced by legends of both traditional composition and modern rhythm, Marc spent his formative years crafting a signature style that balances technical precision with profound emotional depth, setting the stage for a career defined by innovation and a relentless pursuit of auditory excellence. 1980 The First Chords Beginning the rock journey in the underground Geneva circuit, after having studied piano and trombone. Diving head on into 80's hard rock with Swordfish, Rixx and other local bands. 1993 to 1998 The Darts Covering songs with an attitude 1992 Sevilla Expo 92 Marc was asked to replace the bass player of CERN band Abraxas days before flying to Sevilla. Abraxas played main act with Les Horribles Cernettes (the first ever picture on the web) as supporting act. They were later told we played "to" 636'000 visitors that day. Significant Milestones A journey through the pivotal moments that shaped the noir sound of Marc Fettarappa. 1988 to 1993 The Quest Release of the debut album "Flying" that established Marc's departure from 80's rock. Live performances opening for Killing Joke and The Cross (Roger Taylor) 1990s Bex Marshall RocKaddiXion became Bex Marshall's band for her gigs in Switzerland 2015 Gate 21 As a reboot of the Darts, old friends rejoined. This band has evolved and is still kicking Crossing paths The Gibson Flying V website starting in 1992 with a love for the Vs, Marc started a website dedicated to teh Gibson Flying V. It was basic and gave a lot of info about the guitars iterations. Funnily enough, it became a reference and quite a significant number of guitar players contacted him over the years.
